Any time I feel like life is shit here in the US for white men, all I have to do is look to the UK or Australia. If I lived in either country I would be in prison for just living my life the way I normally do here

I'm an Australian and I can relate to what you're saying.

@momento: I know that the media portrays the US as if it is just a few large coastal cities, but most of the country hates those places. Most of the country is still pretty based. I have a story to tell you. For the past 20 years I lived in a state where it is perfectly acceptable to drive with a pistol in your lap or in your glove compartment. They have holsters that hook to your dashboard. I recently moved to the next state over because I bought this place where I can't even see the next house (out in the boonies). In that state it is a felony to have a gun in your car while driving unless you get a license. I was so pissed off I just about went to my local politicians house. So I have to go take a class and be certified because some pencil-pushing dick thinks that the last 30 years of me being in the military and living on a farm means I need to prove to them at my cost that I am proficient. Anyways I was pissed. Then I watched some thing about a guy in the UK who had to cut his food with a round-tipped knife because the government there treats people like toddlers. So I will take the stupid class so I can have the pistol accessibel in my truck but I will bitch the whole time about it

@drutsohg: Crazy laws. From what you said....and you already know this....Australian laws closer resemble the round-tipped knife laws of the UK than USA and I am aware of that all the time. I can't believe they didn;t make an exception for you, being military, and all. Cheers.
