Maybe this will light or rekindle in the collective French heart a fire that will lead to real change. Nice to know at least that there are still men of integrity who are disgusted with the status quo and are not afraid to rip the guilty parties a second asshole.

Yes, in upside down world, one gets demoted for being a patriot and rewarded for being a sellout. Be strong people, as I do believe the tables will turn.

@Soldiergoy: I never thought of it as sounding feminine. My grandfather spoke it fluently but I don't know one word of it. He died when I was very young so I never had the chance to learn from him but I remember him talking to me in French and then laughing when I had an odd look on my face. . He was an English born Australian but travelled to France for business.

@Soldiergoy: There were just as many men in my French class as women. At language exchanges, it's at least 90% men. It is the language of diplomacy and official language of 47 countries. The reason for so many men learning French is for business, diplomacy. It is a beautiful language. Italian and English when spoken properly. All three sound rough when they speak in slang. Therefore, what you are calling feminine, I would call refined. I think it's probably more the media who has put great efforts into painting Germans and the French in a negative light since the end of WWII. They are doing the same to Americans now too.

@pastprovespresent: Très bien exprimé. Je pense que c'est la langue la plus belle de toute l'Europe. Vous avez raison aussi quand vous suggérez que c'est la langue de raffinement.
